| How soon will my account be activated? |
 | Account activation can be set up within just a few hours, but depending on the method in witch you connect to your domain name can take 24 to 48 hours for the Domain Name Service to propagate. |
| If I buy a hosting plan today can I upgrade later on when my site grows? |
 | Yes, you can upgrade at any point. Just send an email to sales@717hosting.com and let us know which plan you want to upgrade to, and we will subtract the price of your current plan and prorate the cost, i.e. if you are currently on the Basic Package at $6.00 a month and want to upgrade to the Enhanced Package on the 15th day of your billing cycle, you would pay $1.50 to upgrade your package and then the $9.00 cost of the Enhanced Package (instead of the $6.00 cost of the Basic Package) the following month. There is no additional charge for upgrading your hosting plan, and your data is completely safe when upgrading. |
| What will happen when my site goes over the data transfer limit? |
 | Our system has the capability to block sites that exceed their data transfer limit. This will be done at the owner's option of course, so you will have the choice to continue using more data transfer and pay more at the end of the month, or stop using more data transfer but no need to pay more at the end of the month. You will be notified when you?re approaching your data transfer limit. |
| Do you allow MP3 files? Do you allow streaming of videos? |
 | Yes, we have no problem as long as those MP3?s and video files are legitimate. We suggest a higher bandwidth and space plan since its mp3s and videos and they tend to be bigger files. Once these files are streamed they consume a lot of bandwidth. |
| Why don't you offer unlimited bandwidth? |
 | No, it is not possible to offer unlimited bandwidth at all. That would be lying to our customers. Like everybody else, we are required to pay for the amount of bandwidth we consume to our upstream providers. We then in turn pass this fee to our customers in order to provide enough resources to our customers. This also applies to other hosts as well, not just us. |
| Can I try your system before deciding? |
 | Sure, we can give you a Free 10 day Trial. Take our sever for a spin and if you don?t like it just send and email to your sales representative or sales@717hosting.com This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it before the 10 days is up and we will remove your account and not charge you a cent. You have nothing to lose! |
| Do you offer money back guarantee? |
 | Yes, we offer a 30-day money back guarantee within the first month of service. This is only valid when the customer is abiding to our terms during the stay with us. We also ask the user to provide the reason of cancellation. |
| Is my credit card information completely safe with you? |
 | Yes, 717hosting.com is committed to the highest level of security and utilizes industry standard SSL securer sever certificates for the processing of your sensitive information. |
| I don't have a credit card or can?t sign-up with PayPal, can I pay with a check or money order? |
 | Yes! We would be glad to accept payments via check or money order. If you pay with a check or money order we will setup your account, in the regular 1 - 2 day processing period, as a 10-day trial and give your payment the benefit of the doubt. Your anniversary date will remain the same day you processed your account activation. If your payment does not clear your account will be suspended and you will have to readmit payment via other means. You will also be charged $25.00 for each Cancelled or Returned check. We also reserve the right to ask for a United States Postal Money Order for reoccurring payments on accounts that have provided insufficient payment methods. | What is a domain? |
 | A domain is a group of computers and hardware resources that are administered together in common procedures with common rules. Within the 717hosting.com system our domain is specified via our IP addresses. |
| What is a domain name? |
 | A domain name (also referred to as DNS - Domain Name Service or Domain Name Server, which is slightly incorrect) is an address (URL) of your 717hosting.com Website. It is the text name corresponding to where you are on the 717hosting.com System. Your web site is located at http://ourIPaddress/~yourUsername. The Domain Name System (the real DNS) makes it easier by allowing a familiar string of letters (the domain name.com) to be used instead of the arcane IP address. So instead of typing http://ourIPaddress/~yourUsername to access your website, you can type http://www.yourWebsiteName.TopLevelDomain. A Top Level Domain is a suffix to your domain name. All domain names have them. There are many to choose from, and current popular TLDs include: .com, .net, .org, .info, .us, .biz, .ws, .tv, and .cc. |
| I already have a domain name through another registrar; can I use it with your hosting? What are the steps? |
 | The first step is going to http://www.717hosting.com and selecting the hosting plan of your choice. Then follow the steps in the order form. Select I already have a domain name I would like to use on the order form. Note this will not transfer your domain name from your current registrar where you registered the domain (we soon will be offering Domain Names please e-mail sales@717hosting.com). After you?ve paid for the hosting you will receive an email with all your login information to the server. You MUST also login into your Domain Control Panel where ever you registered the domain name and modify the NAMESERVERS or DNS to our name server, our name servers will be in the welcome email, you must make those changes in order for your website to go live. | How do I modify my NAMESERVERS (DNS) if I do have a domain name from another registrar? |
 | Please visit the site you registered your domain at, log in to your account and look for the "DNS settings? or ?Control Panel? page, you should find a set of dialog boxes asking for 2 or 4 sets of Name Server addresses. They should look like this: NS1.BLANKBOXES.NET and NS2.BLANKBOXES.NET ? change these to NS1.717HOSTING.NET and NS2.717HOSTING.NET and you?re all the set. It generally takes 24 hours for domain names to become active. This is just how the internet works, there is no way we can speed up the process. If you don't know who you registered you name thru please visit http://www.whois.com, enter you domain name and follow the step to see which domain registrar you used. |
